I was just sitting here thinking how incredibly fortunate I am to live in this valley! Even more so as an artist. I've come to discover that there really aren't many places out there like this. I'm specifically talking about the commeraderie, sharing and support within the artists' community here. We are all (well mostly all) always ready to share info., provide a shoulder or suggestions and generally rally as a unit. I think it makes us better artists. I am grateful. Well, enough of my "inner thoughts"...
My husband and I took a stroll up and down Main Street last weekend during "Art & Jazz" (which, by the way, was refreshing and fun) to look at the newly installed sculpture by the city's "Art on the Corner" program. Wow! Better than ever! The diversity of sculpture is inspirational and the talent is overwhelming. I highly suggest taking the time for a leisurely stroll up and down Main Street to view the art. We in GJ are very proud of this art program and I think you'll see why! In fact, I think I'll do it again this weekend! Of course stopping in at all the wonderful shops lining Main Street is a must too (at least for me)!
I'll write back very soon with some exciting things that are shakin' out in the valley, (like First Fridays, concerts, etc.) so visit again!
