One of my very favorite art events is coming back after a winter slumber... First Fridays!   The very first one is next Friday, June 5 starting at 6 p.m. and going until probably around 9ish.

OK, so what the heck is First Fridays?!?  It  is when numerous art venues and galleries throughout town are open late on the First Friday of each month.  I know, I know... big deal.  But, what makes this event so much fun (besides the wonderful, eclectic art shows) are the people.  I don't know what it is about First Fridays, but everyone seems to be in a great mood.  There's always lots of food, drink and laughter and it almost becomes a game as you see people again at the next art venue.  Very fun. 

Don't worry if you don't know where the First Fridays are being held.  Just show up at The Art Center (corner of 7th Street and Orchard Avenue) and people there (staff and partiers alike) will be happy to guide you to the other locations.  It's a great way to experience the Grand Valley art scene while "playing" with many fun locals and artists.  I can't wait.
